  6. Hi Amelia! My name is Audrey Rosellini. We haven\’t met yet, but I know we are going to be good friends. Mommy saaid you were taking a trip to Cleveland on Monday, so I thought I would tell you about my trip to Cleveland. I just made the same trip a few weeks ago with Mommy and we had a really good time. The flight attendants were very nice and we read lots of books! I got to meet my great Aunt Jan and all of Mommy\’s cousins.I think you are going to meet my second cousin Karen at the Clinic. She is really nice, but kinda loud. Karen made me cry once when she laughed really hard. Mommy said it\’s because she\’s Italian! Isn\’t that funny?! She knows lots about the Cardiology Dept and all the Doctors. I heard Karen tell Mommy that Dr Mee is brilliant and has saved so many babies lives. But she said he doesn\’t have, how do you say it… bedside manner?? I\’m not sure what that means, so tell you Mommy and Daddy they\’ll know what to do.Well, it sounds like you have lots of work to do to get better, so drink all of your milk and take good naps. I know all of the adults love you so much and want to help you, so don\’t be scared. It\’s all going to be OK. I asked Karen to watch over you while you were visiting, so that you can come back to Seattle and play very soon.Love Audrey

  7. Julia, Neal – I am thinking of you both and Amelia, too. After reading Walk on Water I kept thinking about how fortunate Amelia is to have you as her advocates and because of you her health is in the best of hands.I will be thinking of you in Cleveland, sending strength, healing thoughts and something tangible…coffee to help you stay awake during the day if sleep is hard to come by at nightLove, Amy(starbucks gift card).

All of us have become a member of your extended family and are with you each step. Our thoughts and prayers for Amelia and the Freeland family will continue as you make the trip to Cleveland.

  9. Ben and I wish we were there with you right now. To run and get you hot chocolate, force you to read trashy US to take your mind off things, put Neals intelligence to the test with puzzles, fill your heads and hearts with hope and goodness, giggle at Zack or hear him giggle, or even just to hold your hand. You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.Since I\’m not the best with words, I thought ones from these folks might help.Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible.- anonymousYou gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.- Eleanor RooseveltHope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without words the words and never stops…at all.- Emily DickinsonThe things always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.- Frank Lloyd Wright
