Green Lake Swim

leave a comment »

Swam 1 mile across Green Lake today. Perfect weather: 80+ degrees, blue sky, sunny. The water was clear and the alum treatment has stopped the algae that closed the lake to swimming in 2002 and 2003 when we first moved here. It only took 21 minutes to go from the community center on the east side, over to the west side beach, and then back. I think it was a little shy of a full mile. Next year I should do both the half mile swim from 9 to 9:10, and then the mile swim from 9:30 to 9:51. I should also invite Mike. Even though I haven’t been training for a swim, it wasn’t so bad. My arms are a bit tired, but it felt great. On to the Fat Salmon in July (maybe?)
Friends of Green Lake. Help keep the lake clean. Donated some money today.
